amnesty in Haywood County

The Haywood County Child Support Office is on a mission to increase child support collections for the children in Haywood County.

Non-custodial parents who are behind on child support can avoid jail time by taking advantage of a special one-time incentive offered on Nov. 20, “Amnesty Day.”

For one day only, non-custodial parents with an outstanding arrest order can resolve the issue and avoid jail time by paying a negotiated portion of the amount owed and agreeing to the terms of a conditional release order.

To take advantage of the opportunity, visit the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency on Nov. 20 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. You will be required to pay a negotiated purge amount and agree to the terms of a conditonal release order that spells out a sort of payment plan for future payments.

Subject to the conditions of the order, parents can avoid jail time as long as they meet the conditions of the payment schedule by making payments in full and on time.
